Team: Housing Standards
Are you looking for your next role? How about Regulatory Services?
Regulatory Services is where legislation meets the real world. We are out across the city every day in private rented homes across the city, from single family households to large houses in multiple occupation. We investigate complaints, carry out inspections, gather evidence and, where necessary, use our statutory powers to protect the public. It is visible work. It is practical. And it makes a tangible difference.
Together we protect health, improve housing conditions and tackle criminal activity throughout the city by carrying out advisory visits and compliance checks through to formal enforcement action and preparing and attending cases for court or hearings.
Regulatory Compliance Officers lead detailed inspections and build evidence-based cases that stand up to scrutiny, ensuring businesses and landlords meet their statutory obligations.
The ability to prepare clear reports and statements for potential legal proceedings is essential, and you may be required to represent the Service and the Council at formal hearings. If you are motivated by meaningful, outward facing work and confident in applying legislation in real world situations, we would welcome your application.
