The role involves organizing a variety of activities to enhance the residents physical, psychological, and social well-being. Responsibilities include planning monthly activity plans, arranging events, and viewing residents life histories to create detailed life stories. The position values privacy, dignity, independence, and choice. Ideal candidates have experience with older people in a care setting, communication skills, and a commitment to quality activities. Your focus asWellbeing andActivitiesCoordinatorwill be toprovidea wide range of activities to engage and stimulate theresidents' physical, psychological, and social well-being and tounderstandthe needto promotethe philosophy of privacy, dignity, independence, choice,rights,and fulfilment for all residents.

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

  • Identifying the life history, needs, and preferences of residents by listening to them and their families to support the development of a detailed life story.
  • Planning and submitting to the Home Manager- a monthly activity and wellbeing plan and a weekly overview.
  • Arranging activities, events, and outings, encouraging the involvement of staff, relatives, and visitors.
  • Maintaining a safe living and working environment, contributing to the positive and professional image of the home.

Our ideal candidatemusthave:

  • Previously worked with older people in a residential nursing Dementia setting
  • Experience organising activities and events.
  • Effective communication skills, verbal and written.
  • A positive attitude toward older people and a commitment to providing stimulating, quality activities and social events.
