Job summary

Bodmin Minor Injuries Unit has a secondment opportunity until June 2027 to work in a practitioner-led Minor Injuries Unit (MIU). The MIU operates 8am-10pm.

We are interested in interviewing Practitioners who able to work in an advanced practice role which includes minor illness and paediatrics at Band 6 level and also aspiring Practitioners with an urgent care background who would like to develop further and are already undertaking and have almost completed a relevant minor injuries and illness course.

You need a passion for minor injury care, good communication skills and a commitment to providing excellent care as part of the MIU team. You must be responsive to change and flexible in your approach as we are in an exciting period of development for the service. A sound knowledge of professional issues will be required.

An expectation of the role is that the post is offered on the basis of working 7.5 hour shifts including regular rotation to cover evenings/weekends. We are a small team and flexibility is vital to ensure service provision.Please note:If you are an internal candidate and wanting to apply for this position as a secondment opportunity. Main duties of the job

o To deliver, without supervision, effective assessment and treatment of patients utilising evidence based approach. Responsible for the care needs, the management of treatment and evaluation of clinical interventions, reflecting the needs of patients attending this unit.o Responsible and accountable for the delivery of patient care in unit.
