We are looking for a Salaried GP to join our team, working between 4-7 sessions per week. All day Monday and all day Thursday are compulsory.
As a General Practitioner (GP) you will provide high-quality, patient-centred care while working as part of a multidisciplinary team. The role includes routine clinical sessions, duty triage, telephone and face to face consultations.
We are looking for a GP to complement and strengthen our current team.

Main duties of the job
As a Salaried GP at Selly Park Surgery, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred care to our registered population through a combination of face-to-face, telephone and online consultations. You will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing and managing a wide range of acute and long-term conditions, promoting preventative healthcare and supporting patients to achieve the best possible outcomes.
You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team, including nurses, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals, to deliver safe, effective and coordinated care. The role also involves reviewing test results, managing clinical correspondence, maintaining accurate patient records and contributing to the continuous improvement of services within the practice.

Job description
Purpose of the Role
To provide high-quality, patient-centered primary care services to the practice population, ensuring safe, effective and evidence-based clinical care while working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake face-to-face, telephone and online consultations for patients presenting with a wide range of health needs.
- Assess, diagnose, treat and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with national and local guidelines.
- Promote health education, disease prevention and self-management where appropriate.
- Review and act upon pathology results, clinical correspondence and other patient-related documentation.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive and contemporaneous patient records using the practice clinical system.
- Work collaboratively with practice nurses, pharmacists, healthcare assistants and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in clinical meetings, significant event reviews, audits and quality improvement activities.
- Safeguard vulnerable adults and children in accordance with practice policies and statutory requirements.
- Contribute to the achievement of Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF), enhanced services and other contractual requirements.
- Support continuity of care and contribute to the effective running and development of practice services.
- Maintain professional registration, appraisal and continuing professional development requirements in line with GMC and NHS standards.
- On a rotational basis, undertake duty doctor roles
General Responsibilities
- Adhere to all practice policies, procedures and clinical governance requirements.
- Comply with confidentiality, information governance, equality and diversity, and health and safety requirements.
- Maintain a professional, respectful and compassionate approach with patients, colleagues and external partners.
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role and grade as reasonably required by the Partners and Practice Management Team.
