Main duties of the job
Were looking for a motivated Health Care Assistant to Join our nursing team. Duties include home visits, stock management, and routine patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct home visits for patients unable to attend the surgery for their annual review.
- Manage and maintain clinical stock and equipment.
- Take patient observations: blood pressure, pulse, temperature & weight.
- Perform phlebotomy.
- Record ECGs.
- Administer vaccinations & injections under a PSD.
- Conduct diabetic foot checks.
- Wound care.
- Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and admin staff.
- Follow infection control and confidentiality procedures.
Job description
Skills & Qualifications, desirable but not essential:
- Experience as a Health Care Assistant or Nursing Associate in primary care/community settings and familiar with using SystemOne.
- Competent in phlebotomy, ECG recording, vaccine administration, wound care and diabetic foot checks.
- Ability to carry out home visits.
Essential Qualifications:
- Relevant health and social care qualifications.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

South Milford Surgery is a 3-partner, semi-rural practice, situated in the village of South Milford located within the District of Selby. We also serve our 2 branch surgeries at Micklefield and Thorpe Willoughby. The practice serves approximately 11,000.
The practice operates under a Personal Medical Services contract with Vale of York, NHS Humber & North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB).
