Greenridge Surgery B13 0HN
6 session salaried post to cover maternity leave
We are a stable, happy, and effective team. We work hard, but the work is divided up fairly. 10 permanent GPs, most of whom have been with us for a long time. We are forward thinking, and try to stay optimistic.
We are a very busy practice, serving a population with lots of deprivation and challenges; but we are well staffed, and provide really good General Practice.
Prescribing pharmacist (so less scripts to sign)
Really good admin staff and coders (less post to deal with)
Visiting Paramedics (less visits to do)
A triage system that really works - so short waiting times, and we hardly ever need to see extras.
Work closely with neighbouring practice (share the work).
Training practice (Registrars). Medical Students from University of Birmingham. Social mobility project with local school.
No evenings or weekends (unless you really want to.)
We aren't going to pretend it isn't busy, but we do share out the work fairly.
Salary £11666 per session, plus reimbursement of defence body subscriptions.

Main duties of the job
6 session/ 3 days salaried post to cover maternity leave.
Usual duties of a GP - but prescribing pharmacists deal with most of the repeat prescribing, and we allocate protected time for inbound results to be dealt with properly.
Work is shared out as fairly as we are able to manage, and duty doctor days are shared out proportionate to sessional commitment. A 3 day per week GP will usually be duty doc on 3 days in a 4 week run. Visits are shared out fairly - its very rare that a doc has to do more than one.
Job description
6 session / 3 day per week salaried GP.
Usual duties of a GP, in line with the GMS Contract.
Patient consultations (including home visits) - face to face by default.
Administrative tasks
A pro-rata share of the duty doctor rota
About us
10600 patient practice.
We are busy, and work in an area which has some challenges, but we have a really strong, stable team. Several of the GPs have been here >20 years, and except for retirements we haven't had a partner or salaried GP leave for over 10 years.
Purpose built building - which seemed too big when we moved in, but doesn't anymore.
We believe in NHS General Practice, we believe that General Practice is the cornerstone of the NHS. Most of the time we really like our jobs!
