About us:

Sandgate Road Surgery, a busy GP practice in Folkestone, Kent, is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our Medical Receptionist team. With five GP partners, a skilled nursing team, and a robust administrative and reception staff, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional care and service to our patients.

Role Overview:

Operating within our core hours of 8 am to 6.30 pm, Monday to Friday, flexibility is a key requirement of the role. As the primary point of contact for our practice, you will play a pivotal role in delivering excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth functioning of our medical office.

Responsibilities:

• Greet patients and visitors, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanour at all times.
• Handle incoming phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the appointment calendar efficiently.
• Verify patient information accurately and handle confidential medical records with the utmost discretion.
• Assist with administrative tasks, including filing, emailing, and maintaining electronic records.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate referrals and ensure seamless patient care.
• Uphold office policies and procedures to maintain compliance with relevant regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Excellent customer service skills are essential.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in IT systems and ability to learn new software systems quickly.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience in healthcare administration is an advantage, but not essential.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced customer-focused working environment.
