Join our dedicated, motivated and supportive specialist Assistive Technology team, with an excellent national and international reputation for quality, innovation and research and development. We deliver specialist Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and Environmental Control (EC) services across Yorkshire and the Humber.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and technically skilled Assistive Technology Technician for this predominantly field-based role. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work sensitively with individuals with complex physical and communication needs, their families, carers and healthcare professionals are essential.

If you want to use your technical skills to make a real difference to peoples lives and contribute to an innovative, forward-thinking service, we would love to hear from you.

Independently investigate, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, both mechanical and electrical, with equipment installed in clients homes, gathering and interpreting potentially complex information from clients, carers and other professionals, including individuals with communication difficulties and/or learning disabilities.

Participate in a technical support rota, providing remote technical assistance and advice through the departments technical support desk to both service users, their representatives and colleagues.

Develop specialist knowledge in designated areas of Assistive Technology and act as a source of technical advice and support to colleagues on electronic and mechanical equipment, and associated technical issues.
