Job summary

Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust are seeking a proactive and detail-focused Management Accountant to join our Financial Management team.

Reporting to a Finance Manager, you will help provide a comprehensive financial management service to operational divisions. You will support accurate month-end processing, management reporting, forecasting and budgetary control, while building effective working relationships with finance colleagues, managers and budget holders.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practical finance experience who is looking to develop their management accounting skills in a supportive NHS environment.

• Prepare accurate and timely month-end journals and adjustments, including accruals, prepayments, income deferrals and budget transfers.
• Support the production of monthly management accounts, forecasts and financial reports for assigned divisions and cost centres.
• Analyse financial information, investigate variances and provide clear explanations and practical advice to finance and non-finance colleagues.
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial data through cost centre reconciliations, correct coding and appropriate budget allocation.
• Raise sales invoices promptly and accurately, maintain income registers and liaise with Trust colleagues and external organisations to support income recovery.
• Support the Trust's monthly and annual accounts, including responding to information requests from internal and external auditors.
• Work closely with Finance Business Partners, Finance Managers, Financial Accounting colleagues and divisional teams to ensure complete and accurate financial information.
