Summary

What you'll do

This is an exciting time to join NHG's transformation. We're looking for an Internal Communications and Engagement Partner (Customer Services) to lead an inclusive, effective communications and engagement programme for 1,200 colleagues in our Customer Services directorate. Many of them are frontline housing officers or work in other resident-facing roles. As our Internal Communications and Engagement Partner, you'll turn complex change into clear, engaging stories that help colleagues understand what's changing, why it matters and how it affects them. You'll work closely with leaders across Customer Services as part of a renewed Corporate Affairs team. Your work will raise engagement, build a sense of purpose and help us become a truly resident-focused organisation. This is a hybrid role, with at least two days a week in an office.

How you'll do it

Develop and deliver an internal communications and engagement plan for resident-facing colleagues that supports NHG's customer strategy, performance improvement and transformation priorities

Act as key adviser to the Chief Customer Officer and Customer Services SLT, giving them the resources and support to build trust and confidence in NHG's direction

Use our internal channels strategically, including the intranet, digital platforms, email campaigns and townhall meetings, to cascade information to frontline and dispersed teams

Equip team leaders and line managers with briefings, toolkits and messaging so they can communicate change confidently and consistently

Design and deliver in-person engagement, including the Customer Services directorate awayday and the annual all-colleague conference, managing suppliers to deliver value for money and strong impact

Use data and colleague insight to make communications accessible, inclusive and relevant, and track success measures that drive measurable service improvement

The ideal candidate

We believe great service starts with great people, and we are committed to recruiting and developing passionate, enthusiastic, and talented individuals who can add value to our thriving organisation.

As our Internal Communications and Engagement Partner, you'll bring:

Essential:

A proven track record of developing and leading internal communications and engagement programmes in a large customer-facing organisation, including through restructures, transformation programmes or other organisational change

Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills, with the ability to distil complex issues into clear, compelling messages for frontline or dispersed workforces

Excellent stakeholder and event management skills, with experience advising senior leaders and working as a collaborative partner to a business

Desirable:

Working knowledge of housing management, leasehold or other property-related operational business

Familiarity with digital internal communication platforms and emerging AI-enabled communication tools

What's in it for you?

Once you join us, you'll find plenty of opportunities to grow within our organisation. You'll also have access to a wide range of learning opportunities to help you achieve and maximise your potential.

Benefits include:

Excellent annual leave allowance and flexible working opportunities (qualifying period may apply)
