Help us create homes that enable people to live independently

At Conwy, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to live safely, comfortably and independently in their own home.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Adaptations Team Leader to lead the delivery of adaptation and renewal services across the county. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to people's lives by helping residents remain independent, avoid unnecessary moves, and continue living in the communities they call home.

As Adaptations Team Leader, you will lead a dedicated team responsible for delivering housing adaptations and Disabled Facilities Grants, working closely with Occupational Therapists, contractors, Registered Social Landlords, Welsh Government and a range of partner organisations.

About the Role
Reporting to the Rapid Rehousing and Adaptation Manager, you will provide operational leadership for the Adaptations Team and play a key role in shaping and developing adaptation services across Conwy.

You will:
• Lead the implementation and ongoing development of the Council's Adaptation and Renewal Policies.
• Manage, support and develop a team of staff, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the delivery of adaptation projects from assessment through to completion, ensuring high standards of quality and customer service.
• Manage adaptation budgets and ensure value for money in service delivery.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and health and safety requirements.
• Prepare technical and financial reports and contribute to service planning and development.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external partners to improve outcomes for residents.

About You
We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills, technical knowledge and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of local residents.

You will be able to demonstrate:
• A degree relevant to the role, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience working in design, construction, surveying, housing adaptations or a related field.
• Experience of managing and motivating a team.
• Knowledge of construction processes, building standards, housing legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Strong project management, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Experience of managing budgets and monitoring performance.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
• A commitment to delivering excellent customer-focused services.
A project management qualification and experience of securing external funding would be advantageous. Welsh language skills are desirable.

Why Join Conwy?
This is an opportunity to lead a service that has a direct and lasting impact on people's wellbeing and independence.

In return, we offer:
• Flexible and hybrid working arrangements.
• Generous annual leave entitlement.
• Membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme.
• Learning and development opportunities.
• Employee wellbeing support.
• The opportunity to be part of a service that makes a tangible difference to local communities.
