Two positions

Part time:  10 hours per week,  38 weeks per year supporting children in our Nursery and 2 year olds

Part time:  10 hours per week, 38 weeks per year supporting children in one of our Social Communication bases

Due to the further expansion of our playworker team, we have an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children, to join our friendly and welcoming school as soon as possible, or at a mutually agreed date for the successful candidate.

There are two playworker positions available; one in our mainstream Nursery and one in our social communication bases. Many of our fabulous playworkers train to become TAs within our school.

As an OPAL platinum school, we have a different approach to lunchtimes (OPAL) and this involves children being supported by playworkers to get involved in various activities e.g. loose parts, den building, climbing, trolley dollies, lego, sensory,  physical activities etc. but we are open to ideas from the children and you!

We are looking for the following personal qualities:

A warm personality and lots of energy!

Are able to stay calm under pressure

Demonstrate good interpersonal skills with children and adults

Are able to gain the confidence of and build relationships with children

And have a commitment to make a difference to families and children in the Grove Street Primary School community

We can provide:

Closing Date: Thursday 5th  November 2026

Interviews are to be held on: Week beginning 9th November 2026
