Grade 2 Midday Assistant

6.25 hours per week (1-hour 15minutes per day, Monday to Friday, term time only)

Dee Point Primary School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Midday Assistant to support children during lunchtime within our specialist resource provision, The Nest

The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring that children have a positive, safe and enjoyable lunchtime experience. You will support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to develop social skills, independence and positive relationships with others.

You will:

Supervise and support children throughout the lunchtime period.

Assist pupils with eating and developing independence at mealtimes.

Encourage positive social interaction, communication and play.

Support children with emotional regulation and transitions.

Help create a calm, nurturing and inclusive environment.

Work closely with staff within The NEST to ensure pupils' individual needs are met.

Promote positive behaviour and wellbeing.

We are looking for someone who:

Enjoys working with children and has a calm, positive approach.

Is patient, caring and understanding of individual needs.

Can build strong and trusting relationships with pupils.

Works well as part of a team.

Has experience of supporting children with SEND (desirable but not essential).

Is reliable, flexible and committed to inclusion.
