About the Team

Surrey Reablement is an established therapy-led service, with Occupational Therapy at the heart of how we support people to regain skills, confidence and independence in their own homes.

This is an exciting time to join us as we continue to invest in and expand our Occupational Therapy workforce. Our growing OT team is playing an increasingly influential role across the service, helping to shape practice, support colleagues and ensure the people we work with receive timely, personalised and outcome-focused interventions.

Working alongside Team Leaders, Senior Reablement Practitioners and Reablement Practitioners, our Occupational Therapists focus on what matters most to people. Using a strengths-based approach, we support individuals to build on their existing abilities, develop new skills and maximise their independence within their own homes and communities.

We are also embracing technology to support great practice. Tools such as Beam Notes AI help reduce administrative burden, enabling therapists to spend less time behind a computer and more time doing what they do best - working directly with people, building relationships and delivering meaningful interventions.

About the Role

As an Occupational Therapist within our East 2 Reablement Team, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to people's lives at a time when your intervention can have the greatest impact.

You will work directly with people in their homes, completing holistic assessments and developing personalised skills gain programmes that promote independence, confidence and recovery. This is a rewarding role where you can see progress happen first-hand and support people to achieve outcomes that genuinely matter to them.

Our Occupational Therapists are integral members of the wider Reablement team, providing professional expertise, supporting colleagues and helping to embed strengths-based, person-centred practice throughout the service.

As our therapy offer continues to expand, there will be opportunities to contribute to service development, share your expertise and develop leadership skills through coaching, supervision and support for colleagues, students and Newly Qualified Occupational Therapists.

In return, you'll join a friendly, innovative and supportive team that values professional development, collaboration and continuous improvement. We offer regular supervision, peer support, training opportunities and the chance to be part of a service that is committed to delivering excellent outcomes for the people we support.

If you're passionate about helping people regain independence and are looking for an opportunity to be part of a supportive and expanding therapy team, we'd love to hear from you.

Your Application

In order to be considered for shortlisting, your application will clearly evidence the following skills and align with our behaviours:

Knowledge and experience of short term, intermediate care and goal-focused interventions

Ability to complete holistic assessments and write person-led skills gain programmes

Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in Reablement and our partner agencies to deliver personalised, strength-based interventions

HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist and a degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy

Surrey has both urban and rural areas and locality based social care workers will be expected to have a valid driving licence to drive in the UK and access to a vehicle and be willing to travel across a wide geographical area. Reasonable adjustments where needed will be made for successful applicants who have a disability or long term health condition to enable them to fulfil the requirements of the job. Additionally, in this role you may be required to attend meetings outside usual working hours, to meet the needs of the people we support.

An enhanced DBS ‘Disclosure and Barring Service’ check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) and the Children’s and Adults’ Barred List checks will be required for this role.
