Ready to turn data into insights that shape the future of Imperial Business School? Join us as a Senior Data Analyst and lead the development of reporting, analysis and business intelligence that support our marketing, recruitment and admissions strategies. You’ll uncover trends, evaluate performance and identify opportunities for growth, helping colleagues make informed, evidence-based decisions across our programme portfolio.

What you would be doing:

As our Senior Data Analyst, you will lead the analysis and interpretation of complex datasets to generate actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making across Marketing, Communications, Recruitment and Admissions (MCRA).

You will design and develop reports, dashboards and analytical models to monitor recruitment pipelines, marketing performance and market trends. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you’ll translate complex findings into clear recommendations, helping teams understand performance, identify opportunities and plan effectively.

You will also champion data quality, governance and consistent reporting standards, ensuring colleagues can trust and make effective use of our data. With the autonomy to investigate complex business questions, challenge assumptions and recommend analytical approaches, you’ll play a key role in strengthening the Business School’s data and insight capabilities.

You will have experience of:

Analysing complex, multi-source datasets and translating findings into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.

Designing, developing and improving reports, dashboards and data visualisations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker or similar.

Using SQL, Python, R or equivalent technologies to extract, transform, combine and analyse data.

Working independently to investigate complex business questions, evaluate evidence and develop robust recommendations.

Engaging with senior stakeholders to understand strategic priorities, present findings and influence decisions.

Managing data quality and governance, including improving consistency, documenting definitions and supporting data protection compliance.

Translating business questions into appropriate analytical approaches, performance measures and recommendations.

You will be:

A critical thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to identify meaningful patterns and distinguish robust findings from the limitations of the available data.

Confident exercising independent professional judgement, constructively challenging assumptions and providing authoritative analytical advice.

An excellent communicator, able to explain complex findings clearly and persuasively to a range of audiences.

Skilled at data visualisation and analytical storytelling, with a focus on making insights accessible and useful for decision-making.

What we can offer you:

The opportunity to join Imperial Business School, a world-leading institution, and play a key role in shaping how data and insights inform strategic decisions, marketing performance and student recruitment.

The chance to lead the development of high-quality reporting, analytics and business intelligence, helping teams understand performance, identify opportunities for growth and make evidence-based decisions.

Be part of a forward-thinking Business Systems & Insights team, with opportunities to influence analytical approaches, reporting standards, data quality and governance, and the wider use of data across the Business School.

Benefit from a sector-leading salary and remuneration package, including 43 days’ annual leave and generous pension schemes.

Access a range of workplace benefits, including flexible working options from day one, generous family leave packages, on-site leisure facilities, and cycle-to-work schemes.

Join a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative community with access to staff networks, learning opportunities, and resources to support your personal and professional wellbeing.
