Wednesdays 8.45am – 4.25pm term time only

Maes Ebbw is a special needs school that caters for children between the ages of 3 to 19 (Nursery to Tertiary). We have two sites. The smaller site, Maes Ebbw Bach, is situated in Maindee and caters for some of our 16 to 19-year-olds. The larger, main site is situated in Maesglas.

Our aim is to provide high quality educational and therapeutic provision for all our pupils. Maes Ebbw is child-centred, flexible and responsive to the complex needs of each pupil. Central to our philosophy is a strong belief that our pupils should have the help, commitment and expertise to give them every opportunity to develop independence, succeed and be happy.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable and caring Teaching Assistant (Level 2). The advertised job is for 32.5 hours per week (5 days) and you may be placed in any class across the schools.

The role will involve working with pupils with a range of special educational needs of differing ages. The role requires that you support pupils in class as well as assisting their care needs.

Ideally you will have some experience of working with children in a school setting as well as experience of supporting children with additional needs.

Holidays must be taken during school closure periods. The appointment process will involve an interview with members of the school leadership team and a selection of Governors.

This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS).
