You could be the difference that helps a vulnerable adult feel safe, secure and supported, while maintaining as much independence as possible. This isnt a typical Administrative role as you will have contact with our vulnerable adults and their support workers and carers we support.
An Appointee is someone who is appointed by the Department of Works and Pensions to receive and manage the welfare benefits of an adult who is unable to manage their own income.
Through effective financial administration and attention to detail, you will help people access the income and support they are entitled to, protect them from financial abuse potential exploitation, and promote their wellbeing.
Every transaction you process and every enquiry you resolve can make a meaningful difference to someone's quality of life, helping them to live with dignity, choice and control. You will be required to access on line bank accounts for our appointee clients and all the associated transactions and transfers to various accounts so accuracy is essential.
If you are organised, methodical and proactive, you may already have many of the skills we are looking for. We are seeking someone who is confident using Microsoft Office applications and who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work. As you will be handling sensitive information relating to vulnerable adults, it is essential that you can demonstrate professionalism, tact and discretion at all times, while ensuring compliance with data protection requirements.
This is a hybrid role within a supportive team that works both independently from home and from our current office at the Newport library. You will need to be self-motivated, able to manage your workload effectively, prioritise competing demands and consistently meet deadlines.
In return, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of vulnerable adults, helping them maintain their independence, dignity and financial security.
