Main duties of the job

As a salaried GP, you will hold a personal list of patients, to enable the best possible continuity of relationships. We support you with the availability of a Personal Assistant, an excellent Nursing Team, including Mental Health provision, First Contact Physios and Pharmacists.

Job description

The post-holder will manage a patient caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered patients. Responsibilities will reflect requirements of the NHS GP Contracts, and as such may be subject to change as services adapt.

You will be required to work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the diverse practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract and GMC standards for good medical practice.

With this population size we are able to offer GPs choice of specialist interests and we allocate a personal assistant to each GP to minimise the administrative work and focus on looking after the patients.

The clinical team currently consists of; GPs, ANPs, Nurse Prescribers, Practice Nurses, Mental Health Nurse, Mental Health Support Workers, HCAs, Pharmacists and Physiotherapists.

We are also very keen on teaching: We have a couple of GP Fellows, a GP trainer, GP Teachers looking after 3rd, 4th and 5th Medical Students from the local University.

We are focussing on the NHS 10 Year Plan and the idea of Neighbourhoods and Integrated Neighbourhood Teams, as we work towards single and multiple provider contracts.

We host a "Friendship Cafe", run by patients, for patients. It is an open space, without clinical input, primarily aimed at giving patients a place to have a friendly chat and connect with others.
