Main duties of the job

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will be part of a team dedicated to providing care for individuals with neurological conditions at Jacobs Neurological Centre in Sawbridgeworth. Your responsibilities will include participating in ward rounds, analyzing patient behaviors, and adapting care plans to meet their needs. Additionally, you will be responsible for updating patient records, providing overall care and support, and assisting with personal hygiene when necessary. The role requires resilience, compassion, a positive attitude, and vigilance, as you will be working in a challenging yet rewarding environment. You will work 12.5-hour shifts, 3-4 days per week, including nights and weekends. You will receive an annual base salary of £25,564.50, 33 days of annual leave, enhanced maternity package, as well as supportive resources such as the Blue Light Card, life assurance, and a 24/7 GP service.

What you will be doing

You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with  neurological conditions, using your knowledge and skills to help people along their recover pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life.

Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.

It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you’ve made someone’s life better.

The shift pattern is 12.5 hours a day, 3-4 days a week including nights and weekends.
