At Holly Tree Surgery, we believe that a happy team leads to happy patients. We are currently looking for an experienced Practice Nurse to join us for a part-time position that fits perfectly around life’s other commitments.

 

Details:

Hours: 15 hours per week

Days: Mondays and Wednesdays (8 hours per day, includes a 30-minute unpaid break each day)

 

Job responsibilities:

The post holder will work as part of the primary healthcare team providing General Medical Services to the patients of the Practice, including treatment room care and chronic disease management.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver evidence-based patient care, assessing needs and prioritising health issues appropriately
  • Manage and support patients with long-term conditions, including Diabetes, COPD, Asthma, and Contraception, while identifying those at risk to prevent complications
  • Provide a comprehensive range of nursing services: cytology, wound care, doppler, travel health, CHD/stroke monitoring, baby clinics, vaccinations, immunisations, health checks, suture removal
  • Request and process pathology tests and results
  • Ensure accurate and effective use of SOMED codes
  • Maintain compliance with QOF, enhanced services, and medicine management initiatives
  • Support the Infection Prevention Control (IPC) lead and work to the IPC Policy
  • Participate in clinical audits and research projects and implement changes as required, including supporting with the development, and updating of practice protocols/guidelines and procedures locally
  • Be aware of duties and responsibilities regarding current legislation and adhere to practice policies and procedures on Safeguarding Adults and Safeguarding Children
  • Maintain accurate, thorough patient records at all times
  • Act as a chaperone and assist patients during examinations by other clinicians
  • Attend and participate in practice meetings and clinical education/training as required
  • Maintain the cleanliness, tidiness, and stock levels of nurses’ and treatment rooms
  • Clean and maintain equipment used by nursing team
  • Undertake any other delegated duties appropriate to the post
  • Support the team in dealing with clinical emergencies
