Senior Chemotherapy Staff Nurse, Chemotherapy Treatment Unit, CCC-L

Working Pattern: 3 Days a week, 28.5 hours, Monday - Saturday

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK's leading providers of non-surgical cancer treatment, caring for a population of 2.4 million people.

Our flagship specialist cancer hospital in Liverpool opened in June 2020, supported by our hospital on Clatterbridge in Wirral providing outpatient cancer treatment and supportive care, and our radiotherapy treatment centre on the Aintree Hospital site.Together, working across three sites and operating specialist chemotherapy clinics in four of Merseyside's district hospitals, we are able to deliver a comprehensive range of inpatient care, advanced radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other systemic anti-cancer therapies including gene therapies and immunotherapies. We also deliver a pioneering Treatment at Home and Work service; are the only facility in the UK providing low-energy proton beam therapy to treat rare eye cancers and host the region's Teenage and Young Adult Unit.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for enthusiastic Band 6 SACT trained nurses to work at our CCC - Liverpool site in the Chemotherapy Treatment Unit. You will embark on a programme of dual training for both Oncology and Haematology systemic anticancer treatments. You must be highly motivated and willing to undergo training in the Haematology and chemotherapy fields.

As we deliver treatments in sector hubs and clinicsacross the Wirral and Liverpool, there will an element of cross cover required during training and once training has been completed. This will include travelling to all of our peripheral sites:

  • CCC Wirral
  • CCC Chester
  • CCC Halton
  • CCC Private Unit Wirral
  • CCC Private Unit Liverpool
  • Clatterbridge in the Community

The successful applicant will support the team in a leadership role. You are required to be fully SACT trained with relevant SACT experience. You will support and educate junior staff and participate with educating and assessing.
