Do you have experience working in a busy garage / workshop ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation in line with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency “Guide to maintaining roadworthiness – Commercial vehicles” then this is the job for you.
This post is responsible for the day to day management of a team of mechanics who work in our busy fleet workshop. The team looks after a diverse municipal fleet including refuse and kerbside recycling, road & pavement sweepers, tippers, gritters and many more.
The post will be required to be named on the Council’s Operators Licence along with two others with responsibility for vehicle maintenance.
You’ll have:
• Minimum of Level 3 HGV repair and maintenance or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
• Minimum 3 years post qualification experience in independent testing and inspection for roadworthiness and MOT on LGVs and HGVs (or equivalent experience)
• Up to date drivers periodic CPC and digi tachograph card or commitment to gain within 12 months
• Managers CPC or willingness to obtain within 6 months and relevant fleet management and Operators licence experience
• Ability to work to deadlines in a busy working environment
