Assistant Building Surveyor – Build Your Career While Making a Difference

Are you looking to develop your surveying career within a large and diverse housing portfolio? As an Assistant Building Surveyor, you'll support the delivery of repairs, maintenance, disrepair, voids and planned works, helping ensure residents live in safe, well-maintained homes.

Working alongside experienced Building Surveyors and Property Services teams, you'll gain valuable exposure to a wide range of surveying activities while developing your technical expertise and project management skills.

What you'll be doing

Support the delivery of repairs, maintenance, disrepair and voids programmes across your region.

Carry out property inspections, diagnose defects and prepare reports, specifications and cost estimates.

Monitor contractor performance, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time and to the required standard.

Build strong relationships with residents, colleagues and stakeholders, delivering excellent customer service.

What you'll bring

Experience in building surveying, building maintenance or a related property environment.

Knowledge of building defects, repairs and maintenance, with an understanding of value for money principles.

Strong communication, organisational and customer service skills.

The ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.

Qualifications

Degree, HNC or HND in Building Surveying or a related discipline, or relevant experience.

Candidates working towards a Building Surveying qualification are also encouraged to apply.

You'll work closely with Building Surveyors, contractors and operational teams to support the delivery of high-quality property services.
