What You'll Be Doing

As a Roads and Street Works Coordinator you will be responsible for the statutory co-ordination and management of street works carried out by the council as highway authority and statutory undertakers on the public highway in accordance with the Traffic Management Act (2004) and the New Roads and Street Works Act (1991) and its relevant Code of Practices. In doing so, you will help Southwark Council meet its duty under the Traffic Management Act 2004 to ensure that the road network is effectively managed and disruption is kept to a minimum and all relevant activities are undertaken in a safe manner. Your role will involve collaborating with the other Coordinators to ensure all permits are responded to in a timely manner and all correspondence dealt with appropriately.

What We're Looking For

Identify opportunities to facilitate the day to day working programmes by liaising with Highways and statutory undertakers Assist with the co-ordination of all and any temporary or permanent permits and licenses. Represent Southwark Council at public meetings as appropriate Coordinate the Lane Rental Network and maintain relevant information Consultation with all relevant internal departments with London Borough of Southwark Manage the Streetworks register and other coordination systems Attend site meetings where appropriate Communicate effectively and respond to both internal and external customer enquiries to the appropriate quality standards either by telephone, email, letter or face-to-face sensitively and efficiently.
