Duty Advisor - HousingCouncil
We are looking for motivated and customer-focused individuals to join our Housing Advice Team as Duty Officers. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of supporting residents with housing needs, preventing homelessness, and helping people access the right housing and support services.
As a Duty Officer, you will be the first point of contact for customers seeking housing advice and assistance. You will provide guidance, carry out initial assessments, manage enquiries, and help individuals access the services they need. Working within a fast-paced and rewarding environment, you will play a key role in delivering early intervention and prevention services.
What you'll do:
- Provide housing advice and guidance to customers.
- Undertake initial assessments and triage of housing enquiries.
- Support homelessness prevention activities.
- Signpost and refer customers to appropriate services and support agencies.
- Work closely with Housing Advice Officers and partner organisations.
What we're looking for:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Confidence in managing challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- A commitment to supporting vulnerable people and improving housing outcomes.
- Experience in housing, customer services, welfare, support services, or a related field would be advantageous.
