We would like to offer an exciting opportunity for a Band 4 Psychology Assistant to work in the Hackney Integrated Learning Disability Service. We are a dynamic and friendly multi-disciplinary team made up of health and social care practitioners working with people with learning disabilities, their families, carers and supporters in a diverse and vibrant part of London. We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative practitioner who is committed to advancing the wellbeing and life chances of people with learning disabilities and addressing health and social care inequalities experienced by this group.

Main duties of the job
You will work directly with people with learning disabilities and their networks under the supervision of a clinical psychologist to deliver psychological assessments and interventions as part of a cohesive multi-disciplinary team. In addition you will help to provide consultation and training to other providers. As part of the role there will be opportunities to participate in innovative research and service development projects. You will receive regular supervision and the service is committed to continuous professional development with access to internal and external training opportunities.

Education/Qualification/Training
Essential
- Upper Second or above degree in Psychology
- Entitlement to Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society
Desirable
- Further education or training such as an MSc or PGCert in a relevant field.
Experience
Essential
- Experience of working with people with learning disabilities and/or autism
- Experience of working with health or social care provider organisations
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt communication for different audiences and to work in a multi disciplinary team
- Graduate level knowledge of research design and methodology.
- Up to date knowledge of psychological research and national guidance relevant to people with learning disabilities and/or autism.
Desirable
- Fluency in a local community language.
