Job summary

This is an appointment for a full time (10 PAs) Locum Consultant Paediatrician in Community Child Health based in Grantham, but the postholder should be willing to work in any of the Trust's locations. This is a replacement post for a vacancy, so the post holder is expected to take on the patients already on the list of the previous consultant.

The Community Paediatric Service is a secondary care consultant led service delivered by experienced doctors trained in paediatrics and child health with specialist skills. Children are referred and seen in a variety of settings.

The service works closely with schools and Lincolnshire Children's services, and the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Teams. Specialist Clinics are held for children with ADHD. There is some multidisciplinary assessment of children with complex developmental difficulties and disabilities; it has been recognised that this area needs re-establishing and further development. We accept referrals on ADHD, Autism and Neurodisability pathways. The bulk of the referrals and work is around ADHD and autism. We carry out comprehensive assessments which include Qb test and discussions in autism MDT.

It is envisaged that there will be significant developments in Community Paediatrics soon, including integrated assessment for children with complex neuro-disability and further exciting opportunities to influence the shape of children's services in Lincolnshire.
