GP Receptionist required to join our vibrant and welcoming team.
Your role will involve speaking with patients face to face and on the telephone , dealing with their queries, making appointments, liaising with other team members, community services etc. Registering new patients and various other administrative and dispensing duties.Duties will include performing reception duties, booking appointments. You will need the ability to record accurate and sensitive information.
A good standard of general education and experience of dispensing and working in a GP practice is essential along with experience of TPP SystemOne is preferred .
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
Main duties of the job
1.To work within the Practices Protocols and operating Procedures to ensure that all medicines and appliances dispensed are checked against the prescription.
2.To operate efficient stock control appropriate to the needs of the practice with the objective of ensuring continuity of supply for patients and minimizing wastage through out of date stock.
3.The post-holder will be expected to provide annual and sick leave cover to ensure that the Dispensary and Reception is adequately covered.
4.Opening up/locking-up of Practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with Practice protocols
5.Monitoring the Practice appointments system. Arrange appointments and requests for home visits, including emergencies in keeping with the Practice Protocol.
6.Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments,test results, visits and telephone consultations and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional.

Weekly hours will be 20 hours per week . Monday and Friday 8 - 18:30 with 30 minutes unpaid lunchbreak
