Job summary

We are looking to recruit bank staff who have the skills, experience and credibility necessary to undertake discrete internal audit/assurance assignments/projects.

These assignments may be advice/consultancy, training, workshop/forum facilitation, project assurance, assessments or audit.

Our range of clients is growing and whilst our main source of work is the NHS (both commissioners and providers) and their partners, individuals who have worked in the relevant specialist area at a senior level within other sectors are welcome to apply.

Specialist Assurance Associates (Bank) provide 360 Assurance with the capacity and the flexibility to provide a more responsive service to clients as well as seize new opportunities for growth.

Main duties of the job

Deliver specialist assurance assignments, including audits, reviews, consultancy, training, workshops and project assurance, to agreed standards, timescales and budgets.

Use specialist expertise to assess risks, controls, systems and processes, identifying good practice, weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.

Produce clear, evidence-based reports, briefings and presentations for senior managers, Executive leads and Board-level committees.

Make practical recommendations that help clients strengthen governance, risk management, internal control, quality, safety and efficiency.

Job description

This role requires a professionally qualified and credible specialist with senior-level experience and expertise in their field. Key requirements include:

  • A relevant professional qualification and professional body membership, alongside an undergraduate degree or equivalent.
  • Masters-level knowledge gained through a postgraduate qualification or equivalent specialist training and experience.
  • Significant senior operational experience within the specialist area, including experience of organisational risk management.
  • Highly specialist, up-to-date knowledge of the relevant field, NHS and wider health and social care policy, and the responsibilities of different health and social care organisations.
  • Experience of delivering complex audits, assurance reviews, consultancy or system-wide reviews with minimal supervision, in line with recognised internal audit standards and methodologies.
  • Significant experience of producing evidence-based reports, briefings and presentations for senior managers, executives and Board-level committees.

The role requireshighly developed analytical and judgemental skills to assess complex and sometimes novel information, reach evidence-based conclusions and design practical solutions.
