We are seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to join our well-established Bowel Cancer Screening Programme (BCSP) team as an BCSP Administrator

This is a pivotal role within the service, providing essential administration support to theSpecialist Screening Practitioners (SSP) and the wider team. The post offers a fantastic opportunity to develop skills through the accurate management of patient sensitive data, handling incoming calls from patients, and contributing to the smooth running of the service.

Applicants must have excellent communication skills, outstanding attention to details, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Previous administrative experience or in a healthcare setting would be an advantage, though full training will be provided.

Main duties of the job

BCSP Administrators have a key role in supporting the screening service and support the specialist screening practitioners and the programmein delivering a high quality timely service. Reporting to the Deputy Programme Manager you will be part of a team responsible forensuring that patient related documentation is prepared for clinics and endoscopy lists in a timely manner; dealing with confidential patient queriesand dealing with a constantly changing demand on the service.Due to the nature of the work you will be IT literate, able to use most office software and work unsupervised. Previous experience in the healthsector would be an advantage and the ability to work as part of a team and work to tight deadlines essential.

Job description

• Accountable for providing an administrative service to the BCSPManagement Team to support the effective delivery of the Programme.
• Act as first point of contact with Regional Hub (Rugby) with the recording of results and arrangement of nurse-led community clinic appointments.
• Arrange colonoscopy appointments at the identified screening centre.
• Maintain regular communication with Primary Care with regards to patient activity.
• In conjunction with the National Team, maintain the BCSP national database
• Ensure smooth referral pathways are adhered to for patients referred tolocal Trusts.
• Maintain the BCSP service and surveillance waiting lists and local databases.
• Participate in educational/awareness sessions as identified by the BCSP.
• Support the BCSP Manager in the development of performance reportingto the National Screening Programme, strategic groups and the widerhealth community.
• Responsible for the co-ordination of personnel timetables during timesof annual and sick leave.
• Assist the BCSP Manager in the development of robust information systems that will support the current and future needs of the Programme.Represent the BCSP at meetings as appropriate.
• Collate and analyse data from various sources to meet the requiredreporting standards.
• Participate in the development of new systems to meet changing information requirements.
• Ensure adequate supplies of stationery, consumables and officeequipment as appropriate.
• Ensure the security, maintenance and cleanliness of officeaccommodation and equipment.
• Carry out other duties as appropriate to the post.
