LSE is committed to building a diverse, equitable and truly inclusive university

Salary from £43,277 to £51,714 per annum inclusive with potential to progress to £55,497 pa inclusive of London allowance

The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is one of the foremost social science universities in the world. LSE is a vibrant and cosmopolitan community in the heart of London, with a diverse staff and student body.

We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Research Awards Manager to join our supportive and collaborative Research Awards team. This is an excellent opportunity to support world-leading social science research by helping academics manage externally funded projects from award set-up through to final reporting and closure.

You will provide a high-quality post-award finance service for LSE’s academic departments, institutes and research centres, working closely with researchers, Academic Managers, funders and Professional Services colleagues.

Your responsibilities will include grant administration, compliance processes, budget management, expenditure review, financial claims and reports, maintaining clear records, and advising on funder terms and conditions as well as LSE regulations and procedures.

You will be able to manage competing priorities, work accurately with financial information, and communicate clearly with a range of stakeholders. You will bring strong numeracy and Excel skills, sound judgement, and a customer-focused approach.

The successful candidate will have good knowledge of administrative or financial practices, procedures and systems, ideally gained in a research, higher education or similarly complex environment.

In return, we offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave and excellent training and development opportunities.

LSE is a campus-based university and staff are expected to attend the London campus in fulfilling their role. Most staff balance working from the campus and remotely. We, therefore, encourage applications from applicants who can routinely travel to the London campus.
