Job summary

Working as a champion for the allied health professions (AHP) support workforce, the post holder will develop and deliver a range of activities to enable learning, development, and progression for the AHP support workforce.

It is a collaborative role between the AHP Leadership team and organisational development. The post holder will lead on a programme of work to develop the support worker role across the AHP professions in both Trusts.

The role will involve research, networking (internal and external) to deliver key workstreams around: competency development, enhancing the scope of practice, education, and development opportunities. Supporting the continued implementation of the AHP support worker framework.

The post holder will establish and maintain strong and effective partnerships and stakeholder relationships across local, regional, and national networks.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will further develop the AHP support worker networks, building engagement and inform the development of AHP support worker careers.

  • The post holder will work with the AHP leadership team, AHP Faculty and AHP council to ensure that support workers are represented and that their contribution to service delivery is highlighted.
  • To promote and encourage the use of the AHP support worker career framework and the ongoing development of the AHP support workforce.
  • To promote increased participation with the support worker council to ensure AHP support worker issues are highlighted and communicated to support workers and senior leaders.
  • support a collective professional voice for all support workers across CFT and RCHT
  • to provide expert opinion and intelligence on the profession and its opportunities
  • to support and ensure clear and consistent communication to the profession regarding Trust strategies such as the Professional Standards workplan
