Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Security Supervisor to join our team on a permanent basis. This position is well-suited to an experienced officer who can work alone as well as part of a team, and is looking to gain experience within a healthcare setting.
The Successful Candidate
The ideal candidate will have good negotiation skills and possess a customer focussed approach. This role is subject to Enhanced DBS disclosure.
Main duties of the job
- To act as the first point of contact for any security related issues.
- To manage the staff employed as security guards to provide the best possible
- experience for all users (patients, visitors, and staff).
- To monitor and coordinate the reaction to any alarm activations.
- To provide reports and monitoring information as required to produce performance reports.
- To act as the first point of contact for any security related issues.
- Carry out a full range of security duties in accordance with agreed policies and procedures.
- Maintain effective communication links through the correct use of radio, bleep systems and correct terminology.
- Lock and alarm departments as required, external doors & gates as laid down in Trust lockdown procedures.
- Assist in the search for missing patients and if necessary, escalate the search by contacting local police.
- Maintain any scene of crimes.
- Provide a first point of contact for fire brigade and emergency ambulance service
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
- SIA Licence
- General School Education
- Experience of leading a team
- Basic IT Skills
- Experience of conflict management, violence and aggression
- Good negotiation skills
- Ability to communicate effectively
