Job summary

An Exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Rheumatology Specialist Nurse based in Aintree Hospital.

Candidates should be committed to the provision of high quality patient care, be highly motivated, dynamic, enthusiastic and demonstrate excellent communication skills. They must also be committed to education and support more junior Band 6 Rheumatology Specialist Nurse colleagues.

Main duties of the job

This role involves managing patients through the assessment and treatment stages of their rheumatological disease.

Job description

The main responsibilities include:-

Providing education, advice and monitoring for patients with a wide range of rheumatological autoimmune diseases.On-going surveillance and efficacy assessment of disease management with appropriate medical intervention.Undertake nurse lead clinics.Assisting with associated research studies.Liaising with the local and regional multi-disciplinary teams.

Providing support for both patients and their families in both the hospital and community setting.

Applicants should have a 1st level degree and ideally be working towards V300 independent prescribing, and MSc / ANP level qualification and have recent experience in the management of patients with a wide range of rheumatological conditions. Applicants must also have the knowledge and skills to monitor patients on immunosuppressive and cytotoxic medication. Clinical assessment and independent nurse prescribing is essential for this role.
