Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the HPB team as a Senior Clinical Fellow. This role includes supporting the HPB team with inpatient ward rounds and associated duties, along with the opportunity to participate in research and emergency duties.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role are:

  • The Senior Clinical Fellow will be expected to manage Pre and post op patients. o The Senior Clinical Fellow will be encouraged to publish and present at local and international meetings in HPB.o Modular HPB cases hands on training (STU) for both benign and malignant conditions. o Cross site case observations. o Undertake a 1:18 on-call rota to support emergency care.

Job description

In addition to HPB registrar work, the duties of the post include providing senior cover for HPB patients, attending theatre/outpatient sessions and care of admitted General Surgical patients.

There is a commitment to the acute general surgical rota (commensurate with experience). The appointed candidate will be expected to carry out a degree of clinical work (clinics) independently.

There is access to modern imaging (CT PET), Endoscopy (ERCP and EUS) and robotics on single site.

This post offers excellent exposure and experience in complex HPB surgery. The Senior Clinical Fellow is expected to develop operative skills in robotic surgery and judgement in the care of such patients through the full spectrum of the specialty.

The University Hospital is over a thousand bedded tertiary care, level III trauma unit. It is affiliated to Warwick Medical School (Warwick University) which is one of the foremost institutions in theCountry.
