Job summary

This is a newly created post to provide a high-quality secretarial service to the Consultant, Associate Specialist Doctor, and medical team in the adult ADHD services across the county of Cornwall.

We are looking for an individual who can act as a central point of contact for the Consultant and their medical team. Acting as a pivotal role for all communications, some of which will be of a distressing nature and may require emotional effort by the post holder.

This is an exciting time for Adult ADHD, we are looking for an individual who is strongly motivated to work in this area, with a keen interest to provide and excellent service to the people that access our care.

Main duties of the job

Provide a comprehensive, high-quality secretarial and administrative service to the Consultant, Associate Specialist Doctor, and wider Adult ADHD team. Act as thecentral point of contact for all communications, including managing telephone calls, emails, and correspondence in a professional and timely manner. Prioritise and manage incoming enquiries, ensuring urgent matters are escalated appropriately. Organise and coordinate clinics, including appointment scheduling, preparation of clinic lists, and ensuring all relevant documentation is available. Transcribe clinical correspondence (including clinic letters and reports) accurately and within agreed timescales. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in line with Trust policies and information governance standards. Liaise effectively with patients, carers, GPs, and other professionals, demonstrating empathy and sensitivity, particularly where communication may be distressing in nature. Support the medical team with diary management, meeting coordination, and general administrative tasks.
