We have an exciting opportunity for an Administrator to join the team at HMP Lewes, a busy Category B male prison with capacity of around 627.

Practice Plus Group provides healthcare services across the wings, clinic areas, inpatient facilities, and reception services.

These services would not be possible without our fantastic administration team, and that's where you come in!   This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced administrator to join our team! Previous healthcare experience is necessary for this role.    Hours: Part Time / 15 hours per week. Shifts are 8am - 4pm,Monday and Thursday (with flexibility to negotiate on this).   Salary: Up to £11,429.60 per annum (actual salary based on part time hours) How will we support you? Bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training course

Main duties of the job

As our new Administrator, your responsibilities will include:

  • As the first point of contact for the healthcare team, you will actively speak to hospitals, GP surgeries, solicitors and others, arranging external appointments for patients, requesting discharge summaries and patient summaries etc
  • Use multiple systems (including SystemOne), as well as manage separate email inboxes
  • Work closely with the wider prison team to arrange hospital appointments
  • Process E Referrals
  • Update trackers, systems and spreadsheets for hospital appointments, admissions, consent forms etc
  • General admin duties such as scanning, post, minute taking and stock check

  • This is an extremely busy role, and we need someone that can manage multiple priorities, and effectively manage their time to ensure that tasks are completed
  • Have extensive administration experience within a healthcare / medical setting, such as hospitals, GP surgery etc
  • Be comfortable working in a fast paced environment, with lots of phone based work
  • Any healthcare knowledge and experience would be a bonus, as would knowledge of QAF and clinical coding
  • SystmOne knowledge would be beneficial
  • Be confident using data and maintaining spreadsheets, so excel skills are essential
