Shadsworth Junior School and Shadsworth Infant School are looking for an energetic, empathetic and committed colleague to help us support our families and children so their children can attend school, achieve well in school and families get the support and help that they sometimes require.
We are seeking to appoint someone that is very personable, be self-motivated, has very good verbal and written communication skills, can prioritise work to meet deadlines, and has a flexible approach to working through a variety of tasks who can ‘hit the ground running’.
You need to be conscientious and a good team player. You will be working closely with parents and families to overcome barriers, you will require excellent interpersonal, organisational and ICT skills. A good knowledge, insight and experience of working with vulnerable children and families is essential alongside building strong, respectful relationships with families and staff in school.
The successful candidate must support the ethos and culture of our welcoming schools.
You will be based across both the Junior school and the Infant School which are separate schools. The ability to drive is essential.
Main Functions:
- To support children to attend school on time, every day.
- To provide families with information, advice and guidance and signposting on various issues.
There will be a variety of day to day jobs which will include:
- making telephone calls,
- conducting home visits,
- processing pupil attendance, including analysing data, identifying patterns or trends
- Implementing targeted intervention to secure improvement
- managing legal procedures
- necessary administrative work
- Proactively working with our families to overcome barriers
Hours:
8am – 2.45pm Monday to Friday with a 45 minute lunch break, term time only.
Salary:
Band E £28,153 - £31,015 pro rata (Actual - £19,688)
CPD/Training – You are paid for all mandatory training that falls outside their working outing hours.
Holiday entitlement: School holidays in lieu with the school’s holiday list
