Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Urgent Care centre of North West Anglia NHS Trust, Hinchingbrooke Hospital. We are looking to recruit band 3 HCAs into our 19 bedded Acute Assessment Unit. We are looking for HCAs with experience of working in an acute hospital setting.

Main duties of the job

To assist registered nursing staff in providing a high standard of nursing care within the AAU. To act as support to the ward clerk and nursing to provide administration and organisational duties.

The HCA in AAU will be required to communicate with all disciplines; medical, nursing and allied services and specialities in order to affect the right outcome for the patient. They will liaise closely with their line manager and all trained nurses in AAU.

Applicants who have not yet completed the Care Certificate and do not hold an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) will be appointed at Band 2. Progression to Band 3 will be via the Trust's promotional pathway once these requirements are met. An apprenticeship route may be available to support candidates in achieving the NVQ Level 3 qualification.
