Job summary

In an exciting opportunity we are pleased to be in a position to expand our workforce and are seeking to recruit a number of childrens wellbeing practitioners/Children, Young Peoples Mental Health Practitioners (CYPMH) to join or mental health service in Sunderland. This involves individuals who have the ability to assist in delivering low intensity, and or evidence-based interventions for children, young people and their families who present with a variety of mental health difficulties.

Within this service model, the team is made up of a range of (CYPMH) practitioners. Training is at the forefront of our ethos, and progression is something our services have an exceptional reputation in. This multi-disciplinary team will deliver a range of interventions that support the identification of mental health needs at the earliest stage, while enabling access to services that build resilience and promote positive mental wellbeing.

Main duties of the job

We expect the post holder to possess sound children and young peoples mental health knowledge and skills. You will have the aptitude, motivation and enthusiasm for working within a pioneering service. Candidates will:

• Provide direct evidence-based interventions and outcome focused standards of care to children and families/carers.
• Post holders will deliver high-quality training, consultation, and support to other staff.
• Work collaboratively with multi professional teams to ensure practice is efficient, effective, evidence based and safe.

To work as a member of the Children and Young Peoples Mental Health Services in South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust providing a Getting Help mental health service to children and young people.

This includes the direct provision of evidence-based interventions and outcome focused standards of care to children and families/carers.

The delivery of high quality training, consultation, and support to other staff. The service will be delivered from Community bases as an integral part of an agreed iTHRIVE multi-agency model of Children and Young Peoples Mental Health Service provision.

Work collaboratively with multi professional teams to ensure practice is efficient, effective, evidence based and safe

This will be achieved by:

• Listening to and understanding the community.
• Bringing people together to develop a shared local vision with service users as equal partners.
• Assessing community assets, resources, needs and issues.
• Empowering community members to identify local issues and articulate solutions.
• Linking in with Community Mental Health Services (i.e. CYPS, IAPT, CTT).
• The post holder will ensure they uphold our Trust vision, values and behaviours.
• To promote at all times a positive image of children and young people with mental health conditions.
• To promote at all times a positive image of the specialist service area and the wider Trust.
