As a Senior Care Practitioner, you will combine hands-on care with leadership responsibilities, supporting colleagues to deliver outstanding care while ensuring residents' wellbeing, dignity and independence remain at the heart of everything we do. Main duties of the job

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will take on a leadership role, ensuring the highest standards of care and support for our residents. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Personalised Care: Assisting residents with personal care, hygiene, meals, and daily activities while promoting dignity and independence.
  • Companionship: Offering emotional support and fostering meaningful relationships.
  • Leadership Duties: Supervising and mentoring care staff, conducting appraisals, supervisions, and interviews, administering medication and maintaining accurate records and supporting care planning, audits, and liaising with healthcare professionals.
  • Promoting Wellbeing: Encouraging residents to engage in activities that enrich their lives, tailored to their interests and abilities.
  • Upholding Standards: Ensuring the care home environment is safe, clean, and welcoming.

Job description

The Senior Care Practitioner (Days) is responsible for supporting the delivery of high-quality care and providing day-to-day leadership to the care team. The postholder will work collaboratively with residents, relatives, colleagues and external professionals to ensure residents receive care that is responsive to their individual needs and preferences.

The role combines practical care responsibilities with supervisory duties, helping to maintain a safe, supportive and person-centred environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, reliability and a commitment to continuous improvement while promoting the values of The Oaks Care Home.
