Main duties of the job

As a Senior Care Assistant at Avery Healthcare, your role will focus on supporting the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care. You'll work in a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors, and staff. Your responsibilities will include monitoring the wellbeing of residents, being involved in person-centered care planning, supporting residents with medication needs, and undertaking staff supervisions. You will act as a key contact for residents, relatives, visitors, and health professionals, ensuring any requests are handled and concerns are escalated. To qualify, you must have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes, 2 years experience in a similar environment, effective communication skills, and a positive attitude towards nurturing residents and staff.

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be tosupportand work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open,supportive, andinclusiveenvironment for residents, visitors and staff.

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

  • Monitoringthe wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any changeimpactingon care and care plans, ensuring that new needs aremet,and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
  • Beinginvolved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing,monitoring,and undertaking monthly evaluations.
  • Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
  • Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
  • Acting as a key point for contact with residents, their relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are acted upon, and concerns or complaints are escalated.

  • Have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
  • Have 2 years experience working in similar care environment.

  • Have a positive attitude to bothsupporting and nurturing residents and staff.
  • Beresponsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.
