Job summary

We are seeking to recruit a passionate, knowledgeable and dynamic AHP (Occupational Therapist, Dietitian or Speech and Language Therapist) to be part of a job share as the AHP Divisional Lead across CAMHS, EIP and Perinatal services. This is a senior leadership role within our well-established and innovative Sussex services, providing strategic direction, clinical expertise, and professional governance for AHP practice across the service and profession specific pathways, including crisis and acute care services.

As the AHP Divisional Professional Lead for CAMHS, you will provide professional leadership, supervision and workforce development for AHP staff, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based AHP interventions are delivered consistently and safely across services.

You will join a friendly, supportive and highly skilled multidisciplinary leadership team, committed to delivering high-quality, responsive services in close partnership with families and carers, education, social care and wider children and young people's services. Core aspects of the role include clinical leadership, system-wide consultation and supporting staff to work confidently and collaboratively with risk, families and the wider professional network around the young person.

Flexibility exists around location of this provision related to profession and service need.

Main duties of the job

Providing visible professional leadership for AHP staff across CAMHS, EIP and Perinatal, setting clear standards for practice, performance, and professional conduct. Leading and influencing the development, implementation, and evaluation of AHP practice, ensuring alignment with national guidance, evidence-based standards, and Trust priorities.

Working closely with operational and clinical leads to ensure safe, effective, and person-centred service delivery across CAMHS.

Supporting and overseeing workforce governance, development, including recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisal, and continuous professional development (CPD) for AHP staff.

Promoting a positive learning culture, including the coordination and delivery of student placements, apprenticeships, and training programmes with higher education partners.

Embedding trauma-informed, relational approaches in daily practice, supporting teams to work safely, reflectively and compassionately.

Leading service improvement and quality improvement initiatives, embedding research and evidence-based practice across the division.

Representing AHPs at divisional and Trust-wide meetings, contributing to strategic planning, policy development, and key organisational workstreams.

Fostering a culture of inclusivity, safety, and continuous improvement, aligned with Trust values and equality, diversity, and inclusion principles

Job description

You will be a HCPCregistered Occupational Therapist, Dietitian or Speech and Language Therapist with significant postqualification experience in children and young peoples mental health services, including experience of providing professional leadership, supervision and clinical governance. You will have demonstrable expertise in complex assessment and intervention, influencing multidisciplinary practice and service development across pathways

This is a senior leadership role job share, post holder will provide professional leadership for AHP's across CAMHS Sussex, ensuring highquality, evidencebased practice, strong professional governance, and contribution to service development, policy, quality improvement and workforce planning.
