Job summary

We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated, and proactive Senior Support Worker to join our friendly team within a specialist social care home (without nursing), supporting seven gentlemen aged 60-76 who have severe learning disabilities, autism, and other complex needs.

Main duties of the job

  • Assist individuals with eating and drinking.
  • Support personal hygiene needs and all aspects of personal care, such as bathing/ showeringand support with continence needs.
  • Support physical care needs which may be due to a range of acute or chronic difficulties andincludes manual handling using equipment provided.
  • Involve and engage individuals in all aspects of their care.
  • Ensure that the dignity and respect of individuals are maintained at all times.
  • Act as Shift Leader and delegate responsibilities to colleagues at handover in line withpeople's needs and preferences, ensuring the shift planner is updated.
  • Support people with their medication.
  • Contribute to, and record, health checks, risk assessments and care plans, using physicalrecords and/or digital tools (depending on registered home).
