We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Long Lartin, a category A Prison located in Littleton.

HMP Long Lartin is a male prison serving life sentences with a capacity for 620 inmates. Not well situated so you would need to drive.

You will get paid for all 12.5 hours of your night shift as due to the prison security you will be unable to leave site (apart from emergencies after 2200 at night). Hours

37.5 hours per week. 11.5 hour shifts- 07:30am 20:00pm, working across 3 days. 4x long days every 4th week.  This is an 8 week set rota which will include 4 night shifts 19:30pm-08:00am, 12.5 hours shifts and include 3x weekends over the 8 week rota, covering both days.  Salary

The salary range for this role is £34,428 - £41,659 per annum, depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Primary Care Nurse your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions
  • Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening
  • Use your skills and knowledge to deliver nurse led clinics to your patient group whilst being supported by a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference
  • Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders
  • Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.
  • Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications required:

  • Registered nurse Adult - NMC / Post-qualifications experience required
