We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Wealstun, a category C Prison located in near Wetherby, Yorkshire. HMP Wealstun is a male prison that focuses on training and education.

Working in a busy team of 8, good induction and training offered.  Hours

37. hours a week working Monday to Friday, 8-6pm 4 days a week, 1 weekend every 6 weeks plus some bank holidays.

Salary

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £49,175 per annum, depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Senior Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Responsible for assessment and ongoing management of our patients mental health needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload of patients, assessing their physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic health care plan.
  • Contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to; Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.
  • Play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patients care following our policies and procedures and always considering safeguarding.

Qualifications

  • Occupational Therapist or Social Worker - HCPC / NMC Registered
  • Experience of working within mental health settings, developing knowledge and understanding of this patient group
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Experience of working collaboratively with other agencies and stakeholders in a multi-disciplinary environment

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
