Job summary

Based at York Hospital, this role offers the chance to lead and manage adult AHP surgery services across York and Scarborough Hospitals, within the Surgery Care Group. The services span critical care, inpatient surgical wards and outpatient settings, giving you a diverse and impactful scope of practice. Those managed by the AHP Team Manager are registered Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists and non-registered Therapy Assistants.

Main duties of the job

You will take a pivotal role in leading and developing your teams, with responsibilities including staff management, recruitment, induction, appraisal, and delivery of local training. You'll also drive service improvement and innovation, ensuring high-quality patient care at all times. Operationally, you will oversee shift coordination, workload allocation and rota planning. You'll be well supported by a network of experienced team managers, alongside expert clinical guidance from Advanced Clinical Specialists, Clinical Leads and Heads of Profession.

You will hold a relevant degree (or equivalent) and be registered with the HCPC. You'll bring a broad range of post-registration experience, including experience within a relevant clinical area and at a senior level, with responsibility for leading or supporting others.

You will be confident in developing staff, supporting skill enhancement, and managing complex discharges. A strong understanding of complex care within the NHS environment will be highly advantageous.
