Job summary

Are you a recently qualified OT looking to develop your skills and experience across a wide range of physical and mental health settings?We are looking for OT's to join our established and sought after Band 5 Occupational Therapy rotation.

Our rotation offers a unique opportunity to work in a mix of clinical areas across physical health, mental health and various specialist services. The rotation currently includes:

• Adult Mental Health (inpatient)
• Adult Learning Disability (community)
• Forensic Mental Health (inpatient)
• Stroke Rehabilitation (inpatient)
• Older Adult Mental Health (inpatient)
• Older Adult Mental Health (community)
• Community Therapy Service (community)
• Community Hospital rehabilitation (inpatient)

The rotation is focused in and around the city of Oxford, with some rotations based in the community hospitals to the south of the county. Each rotation is for a period of 8 months (subject to change).

This role will require you to travel countywide across the Trusts sites on a regular basis. You must therefore be comfortable with driving for work purposes and able to travel freely within the hours of the role. Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work. Adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010 where required.

Main duties of the job

• To provide Occupational Therapy that is evidence based and follows client-centred principles. This will include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the outcome of interventions, documenting all stages of the process.
• Interventions may be carried out in hospital, community settings or during home visits.
• To develop skills and knowledge through participation in the Flyer Preceptorship Programme and other post-graduate opportunities.
• To participate effectively as a full member of the multidisciplinary team.
• To contribute to the education of occupational therapy students and apprentices.
• To work as a member of the multidisciplinary team establishing effective relationships with colleagues to benefit the treatment of clients in each setting. This will include contributing to decision making about client care programmes

You'll be supported by experienced Occupational Therapists and a wider multidisciplinary team from day one. Newly qualified OTs can complete our award-winning Flyer Programme preceptorship, alongside monthly Band 5 CPD and peer support sessions.
