Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our Complex Needs and Later Life Psychology teams in East Surrey.

You will work closely with the local multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality, evidence-based psychological care for adults of all ages who experience complex mental health needs and/or difficulties related to frailty and dementia. There is also opportunity to develop skills in neuropsychological assessment.

We offer a comprehensive induction programme, high-quality clinical supervision and a good peer support network to help you to settle quickly and develop in your role. There will also be opportunities for you to meet regularly with other qualified Psychologists across the Trust for CPD events and service development/transformation projects. We have established links with the University of Surrey Doctoral Clinical Psychology training course and welcome the contribution of Psychologists in Training.

You must have a full and valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes due to the community element of this role and the large geographical area that this post covers.

Main duties of the job

You will utilise a diverse range of professional skills, which includes completing comprehensive assessments and formulations, therapy interventions, neuropsychology assessment, consultation and training to non-psychology colleagues, and contribution to service development initiatives.

Other responsibilities will include:

Undertaking comprehensive risk assessments and developing effective risk management plans.

Supporting team managers/ Clinical leads in the development and delivery of effective services.

Conducting clinical audit, quality assurance and research, maintaining current knowledge of research findings and development within specific care groups.

Contributing to the supervision of assistant psychologists as required.
