Job Title: Endoscopy Flow Coordinator

Contract Type: Permanent

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team in Endoscopy. We are a nationally recognised Endoscopy Unit with a passionate and experienced team involved in treating patients in one of the busiest units in the country.

The Endoscopy Flow Coordinator role is fast paced, helping coordinate the flow of inpatients who need their endoscopy procedure, working closely with clinical colleagues and other stakeholders to ensure patients are seen promptly and effectively.

This is a key role in Endoscopy, directly supporting the nursing team in their daily coordination and supporting the wider Trust in making sure patients are seen as quickly as possible. You will also work directly with our team of clinicians to prioritise and coordinate inpatient activity.

Job description

The successful candidate will be responsible for:Service Delivery Proactively manage the patient flow from arrival to departure within Endoscopy. Provide accurate, updated information on daily activity within Endoscopy. To gain an awareness of infection risks, preventing the spread to other patients through isolation processes. Communicate effectively with the ward team and other invested stakeholders. Attend and aid the facilitation of the departmental huddles and other meetings as required. To escalate concerns to the Endoscopy Nurse in Charge for patient safety issues. Ensure the effective transition and communication of patient details for inter-hospital transfers. Support in the identification and pre-empt daily flow challenges and escalating to the nurse in charge/operations team. Actively be involved in creating and implementing Standard Operating Policies linked with patient flow to improve services.

Administrative Duties Build strong relationships with admin, clinical and management staff and maintain excellent communication channels and good customer services. To courteously, efficiently and promptly receive telephone enquiries and provide accurate information to answer queries around patient journeys and the status of the department.

General Take responsibility for prioritisation of workload, responding to changing priorities and conflicting demands in an effective manner and develop systems to improve effectiveness of the post. Act in a professional and responsible manner at all times Be able to work using own initiative to solve complex issues and complete non routine tasks.
